New Year, New Skin!

New Year, New Skin

With 2022 just around the corner, who wouldn’t like to start the New Year with fresh, glowing skin!

We get it, it’s the Christmas Season! For many people this means partaking in the big holiday feasts, socializing with your loved ones over a few festive beverages, and indulging in those sweet foods that Santa Clause loves so much! The only real downside is the after-effects that wreak havoc on your skin, resulting in breakouts and dryness.

While we would never tell you not to enjoy the holiday season or the many treats that come with it, we can definitely help with preparing your skin to battle those breakouts, and can book you in for treatments in the New Year to help you get you back to your usual, glowing self!

Some key things to consider when heading in to the Holiday Season:

Weather Changes

We all know it’s coming, and yet it still catches us by surprise! The cold seems to come in quicker and quicker every year, and many of us still continue to use the same products that we did in the summer. While a standard skincare routine is better than no skincare routine at all, you should be changing your skincare with the weather! The colder climate means your skin will need slightly richer skincare to maintain it’s moisture barrier and avoid dryness and breakouts.

There is no miracle treatment for breakouts

While changing your diet can show on your skin in the form of breakouts, there is no miracle treatment that can eliminate all breakouts. Breakouts can come in varying forms and can be caused by different things (i.e. Diet changes, hormones, stress, etc.). A combination of treatments which could include facials, chemical peels, or laser therapies, along with a customized skincare routine will keep your skin glowing, hydrated and clear.

New Products Take Time

While some skin concerns can clear up within a matter of days using the right products, it can take up to three (3) months (potentially even longer) to see the full benefit of most products. This, of course, depends on the concerns that you are having and the products used. Stick with a new product for three (3) months to reap the full reward and avoid overwhelming your skin with too much change.  Purging, a short-term breakout or irritation, may occur when changing your skincare routine drastically.  This usually lasts a matter of days, so stay the course.

Always consult a skincare professional for a customized at-home routine for optimal skin benefit.
